When married and old Henry (James Mason) and Emilie (Barbara Mullen) Smedhurst take possession of a dilapidated house, really strange things start to occur. After young Annette Allenby (Margaret Lockwood) arrives to keep Emilie company, death seems almost certain -- but for who?
