Trailer-dweller Linda Bronco (Sean Young) can't wait for her son, Michael (Tony Denman), to start college. But when her boy and his best friend, Lennie (Jacob Tierney), get arrested for stealing a six-pack of nonalcoholic brew, Michael's chances for higher education hit an all-time low. Short on intellect and other options, the family kicks off a crime spree to pay for the best lawyer in town (William Devane) -- who just happens to be an ex-con.
