Outlaw Tris Hatten (Raymond Burr) is finally in jail, thanks to young Clay's (Donald MacDonald) tip to his brother-in-law, Sheriff Addams (Hugh O'Brian). The lawman keeps Clay's involvement under his white hat to protect him from retribution, but he can't fool local newsman Jonathan Tatum. Tatum's suspicion that Addams is hogging the limelight puts Clay directly in the Hatten gang's sights. Nancy Gates and Rebecca Welles co-star in this oater.
